Esperion Therapeutics, Inc. discovers and develops therapies to prevent, treat, and reverse cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Esperion was the first to demonstrate that atherosclerosis - a buildup of plaque in the arteries that can lead to a heart attack - could be rapidly reversed by enhancing removal of cholesterol from the arteries through HDL therapy. Esperion intends to commercialize break-through treatments that enhance the body's ability to regulate cholesterol and other lipids and reduce inflammation that contributes to acute coronary syndrome, stroke, diabetes, and other cardiovascular and metabolic conditions.
